Kitchener-Waterloo Titans Basketball Club

The Kitchener-Waterloo Titans Basketball Club is a member of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC), Canada’s only professional men’s basketball league. Founded in 2016 by the ownership group comprised of Ball Construction and local entrepreneur, Leon Martin. This group was dedicated to bringing professional basketball to the Kitchener-Waterloo region. The KW Titans franchise will tip off its third season with home games at the legendary Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

The KW Titans empower aspiring basketball players in Canada and the United States to continue their playing career in a professional setting, and aim to improve the lives of Kitchener-Waterloo Region’s youth through the development and exposure of professional basketball.

Ball Construction is excited to embark on the third season of the KW Titans.  Ball Construction’s investment into the NBL basketball league has added more dates annually to the events calendar at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium which generates more employment opportunities within the community.  In addition to this positive benefit, the Titans are engaged in ongoing charitable and community programs.  The franchise has raised thousands of dollars for area charities such as Children’s Wish Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, One Roof, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region, Cystic Fibrosis, to name a few, by having our key sponsors feature their charity of choice as the focal point of each home game.   Ball Construction’s professional sports franchise has boosted civic pride and brings the community together in a sense of camaraderie while raising awareness and funds for local charities.

As professional athletes and role models, the Titans have deployed out to over 40 schools and sports clubs during each season conducting basketball clinics and having candid conversations about important social issues and challenges that face the youth of today.  Giving time, listening, interacting and inspiring our youth are all simple ways the Titans give back while creating a positive and energetic image in our community.

Economically speaking, the Titans operate like a small business generating new revenues and jobs for local facilities.  Restaurants, long-term accommodations, car rentals, merchandise manufacturers, sports medicine/therapy organizations all benefit from the presence of this National Basketball League in our community.

In addition to bringing the NBL Basketball team to the KW area, Ball Construction finds other ways to contribute to the well being and growth of its community.  For many years Ball Construction has constructed, assembled and donated the huts at the Christkrindl Market venue.  We also take pride in donating our time and talents in assembling various monuments throughout the city.  We proudly sponsor Golf Tournaments and local associations and sports teams throughout the Tri-Cities as we value the benefit that these leagues contribute to the physical and social well being of all those involved.

Giving back to our community in which we all live; work and play is what Ball Construction has aspired to do for the last 95 years and will continue to do for many years to come.
