Update on New Peterborough Arena and Aquatics Complex

The excitement is ramping up in Peterborough, as you can now clearly see the steel structure outlining the new Arena and Aquatics Centre! The City is pleased with the work already completed and is looking forward to the exciting next steps. The centre will be constructed in two separate phases, with phase one scheduled to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2024.

A great deal of work has been accomplished in the previous months, such as the steel being fully erected back in September. Following along closely with the slab on grade, masonry walls, roofing and the insulated metal panel system, which is almost complete.

Overall, the first phase of this project will bring a great deal of exhilaration to the community of Peterborough as the centre will provide many amenities that will bring the community together. The centre will host a twin pad arena which will include 500 seats per rink, ensuring the entire community can join in on the spectator fun. To go along with the new ice rinks, 12 new team change rooms will be added, plus 3 officials change rooms. Other features include an elevated walking track, a team training area, two multipurpose rooms, a concession stand and much more!

With the winter months upon us, Ball is confident that we will be able to maintain the pace of work that we are currently operating at, as we have properly prepared the site for the unruly weather that is to come.
