Project Details

This construction management project was completed in 2011. It serves as a combined library and recreation facility—which includes a swimming pool, a gym, a fitness centre and a running track.

The Challenge

The building was designed to meet LEED® Silver certification requirements, which minimizes the use of energy and natural resources while reducing environmental impacts such as air and water pollution. It was therefore crucial to include energy efficient elements and materials throughout the planning, designing and construction phases.

The Ball Solution

The building achieved a LEED® Silver designation and iconic architecture to amplify light and space. LEED-certified buildings reduce greenhouse emissions, contribute to a healthy environment and cut costs for businesses and communities. It also has a green and white roof combination, both of which are cooler than conventional roofing systems.

The library space is beautiful, modernized and complex. Since its completion, it has won awards for both building excellence and urban design.

Ball delivered this project on time and on budget.
