It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Ball Construction. Ball Construction performed the project management for the Luther Village on the Park, a 178-unit life lease development in uptown Waterloo. The 20 million-dollar project was complex in many ways, providing some very unique challenges during the 2 year building program. Ball Construction achieved a level of excellence for us that many firms would not have had the desire or ability to accomplish. During the project, we were impressed with their ability to work with a broad range of consultants in a productive and innovative way. In the early stages they were invaluable in coming up with cost efficient ways of achieving the desired design.outcomes. Their knowledge of construction cost and accurate estimating is the best we have encountered anywhere. Anytime there were issues or problems that arose; they were able to focus on the actions that were needed to resolve them. While day to day responsibilities were delegated to on site personnel, the owners regularly visited the site and were aware of the status of the project. The support personnel and systems to control costs and monitor budget are some of the best in the industry. In an industry that is subject to interruptions in the supply for products and at times shortages of labor, Ball Construction provided us with the construction management that minimized these problems. Their reputation and relationship with contractors in the industry meant that we received the best efforts from other contractors working under their direction. Where contractors were not performing up to standard, Ball Construction had the ability to set clear expectations and follow through on consequences. Finally we found the management of Ball Construction to be made up of people of integrity, committed to quality workmanship, with strong customer satisfaction orientation. They followed through on commitments, were always accessible, and were willing to see the customer's perspective. Because of these values, they have continued to resolve customer problems even when technically they had no obligation to go the extra mile. In the end we have a product that is known for its quality, and is serving the people of this community in an exemplary manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this firm to any owner. Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Dieter Kays |
